Magners to pour where rugby reigns
A major three-year deal has been signed giving C&C NI pouring rights for cider at Ravenhill, the home of Ulster Rugby.
C&C NI, brand owners of Magners Original Cider in Northern Ireland, was appointed this month as the new official Cider Partner of Ulster Rugby.
Ulster's home matches are major social occasions for the many thousands of fans who loyally support their team. The announcement that Magners and Carling will be available in the outlets throughout the ground is set to enhance the enjoyment of the occasion for those supporters who appreciate the pleasure of heated discussion of their favourite sport over a perfectly chilled pint.
Michael Reid, CEO of Ulster Rugby said,
"We are extremely pleased to have agreed this major deal with Magners, as both a premier drink and premier sports sponsorship name their involvement with Ulster Rugby is an endorsement of the team we have put together for this season"
Brian Magennis, C&C NI's Commercial Manager for Northern Ireland, says,
"Magners is so much a part of the rugby scene that this seems a totally natural development of what has already proved to be a highly successful relationship."
Magners has been involved with rugby since the launch of the high profile Magners League in 2006. Locally, Magners has extended its support of rugby last year with the signing of a three-year sponsorship deal with the Ulster Branch to support its Junior League programme. This new deal also incorporates support for the Minor League programme, demonstrating Magners' commitment for rugby at grassroots and representative levels.
"One of the great opportunities afforded by our new contract with Ulster Rugby will be our involvement as the main sponsor of the Ulster Branch Annual Rugby Awards Dinner, itself a high point of the Ulster Rugby season and one which promises a fantastic night's entertainment for all concerned."
